The light in Lisbon is fantastic pretty much all the time, apart from on rainy days and at night. In a place where light of such phenomenal quality is naturally present it is even more surprising, that people, when talking about their own Bauhaus architecture, rave about the light which floods it.
As if light in Portugal was invented by the Bauhaus. Does life here happen mostly in the streets because the architects have created rather gloomy places? Would a larger quantity of Bauhaus buildings have revolutionised society and emptied the streets? Unimaginable. Maybe though, Bauhaus is simply an homage to light: people express their admiration and then head outside again.
